What To Wear To A Family Shoot
One of the things we get asked about most when coordinating a family photoshoot is “What should we wear?”
All white? Matching Patterns? Solid Colors?
These are all great questions and really there is no right or wrong answer. If you feel comfortable in it and it makes you or your family happy then go for it! However, we know that sometimes people need a little help deciding, so here are our tips as you figure out what to wear at your next family photo session:
Wear complimentary colors. Everyone wearing the same color is great but wearing complimentary colors helps give a variety of looks that can really help make everyone pop and stand out in the photo.
Don’t be afraid of patterns. Mixing a subtle polkadot pattern with a fun floral pattern could be a great look. Another option would be to mix a solid color with something with a little more of a bold print.
Be mindful of your backdrop. Before you settle on a color palette, talk to us about where we’ll be shooting. If we’re shooting somewhere really green, like a park or forest location, try to stay away from too much green so we don’t lose anyone in the background.
Shooting with pets and kiddos are our absolute favorite. We understand little ones can be beautifully unpredictable at times but we recommend a little pre-shoot planning to make sure they’re in the best moods possible. We’ve found success when they are well-rested, fed and wearing something they're comfortable in. Snacks, water and wipes are also a great idea!
